Alumni Johnny Fan graduated in May 2019 and has since set out to build his personal brand and his newly founded company, HIRAETH. Here are a list of his achievements from his past:
Johnny dropped out of college due to unmet financial need.
Atlantic Records (Sir the Baptist) enlisted Johnny to be his creative director, building his visual communications from the ground up – touring the USA, capturing 10+ music festivals like Bonnaroo, Made in America, Sasquatch!, Lollapalooza, and more.
Highsnobiety named @johnnyfan "5 Photographers from Chicago You Should Follow on Instagram" after accumulating only 3,000~ sum followers. Since then, he has grown to over 6,000+ organically with a higher than industry standard engagement rate on his work.
Huffington Post published "Photographers Share Their Tips on How to Take a Great Photo", where they inquired me to share my take.
InsideHook published "The Ultimate Chicago Street Shot" and commissioned me to create a street shot to be published among other photographers.
Johnny was hired by Microsoft to execute sales - selling an artificial intelligence chat bot in Chicago. There, of a team of 7, Johnny was the top seller, closing 130 – 170% on quota, month over month.
UIC Business, where Johnny attended undergrad, published an article after reaching out to me to discuss my work while touring in 2016 with Atlantic Records artist, Sir the Baptist.
In 2017 – 2018, United Airlines hired Johnny as a Business Development Representative, holding the role for an entire academic calendar year (10 months). During that time, Johnny converted 300+ MileagePlus sign ups, placing top 3 in his cohort among other BDR’s at universities like Princeton, NYU, UCBerkeley, and Northwestern.
Johnny was named to be part of the Alumni Council Board, one of 12 members dedicated to overseeing the massive alumni network of 30,000+, for After School Matters. The ACB meet to discuss current and future plans regarding the network and how we can improve the alumni association in a broader light.
Johnny was hired by The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago as an Industry Relations Intern, handling relationship management for stakeholders across thousands of banks in the USA.
Johnny graduated with a B.S. in Marketing as a UIC Business Scholar and with Cum Laude Honors. Johnny is a first-generation college student who put himself through college by working multiple side jobs, building a company, and paid internships.
Johnny co-founded HIRAETH Creative Agency, a creative agency primarily focused in the music industry. Our capabilities include artist management, content creation (short form content, documentaries, IG, recaps, photo, graphic design, motion graphics, animation, photography), digital marketing, pop-up experience, and web development.
HIRAETH Creative Agency launched an inaugural music and art showcase, combining art, music, and networking focused on to millennials, first-generation students, and budding creatives. Red Bull, Monaco, Boxed Water, and Sparkling ICE are among the sponsors for this event - where we sold out this event, selling close to 200~ tickets.
Johnny was featured on a podcast by UpKey, talking about his entrepreneurial journey along with successes and failures.
Glassdoor hired Johnny as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) – II. There, he will create business opportunities, driving revenue against the forecast.
Throughout the years, Johnny has produced and created content for clients like: Uber, Thrillist, HMD Global, and more in the marketing campaign / influencer marketing world.
During his time at UIC, Johnny participated in business organizations like Alpha Kappa Psi, American Marketing Association, and Business Scholars.
